Deja Vu all over again?
I hope this doesn't end up like other "standards" of the past: used by some, abused by others.

If everyone keeps their XML usage open, life will be much better than if certain large corporations try to co-op it as their own.

If they add a bunch of proprietary extensions to their file formats to keep others from using them, then XML will get "forked" up and never live up to it's potential.
