Pay no attention to this article. Focus on the upfront costs and don't worry about ROI on the project. The only thing that matters is this quarter's numbers! Go back to sleep and call your outsourcing rep in the am.

I make a lot of money fixing BSC (Bangladore Spaghetti Code, or just BS for short) and stepping in to bail out losing projects. And since Dell shipped their tech support overseas my evening class on building your own computer has been booming. If companies start bidding projects locally then I'll have to start competing again instead of charging the "fix this crap" rate, which is much higher and generally a lot easier work. Offshoring has been pretty good to me, it'll be a shame if the trend starts to back up.

Hey, as long as my expenses come in the next quarter and can be charged against a different project, offshoring will continue to be popular. They just can't resist. Offshoring is like a jelly dougnut: Tastes good going down but sits like a greasy lump in your stomach for hours afterwards.
