Where Microsoft *could/should* have made it easier!
Sitting here I can think of maybe a dozen sites that just about any PC user would want to visit and run the ActiveX control. Sun's Java VM, Apple's QuickTime, Real's malware, etc.

Would it really have been so terribly hard to pre-install them to I.E.'s white list? Heck, for arguments sake let's say there are 100 "most common" sites that users go to. Adding them to the white list during the upgrade would have been a very simple thing and would have saved untold numbers of users big headaches.

I suppose those that didn't make the list would have cried a river though and probably filed who knows how many law suits. Such a pity...
