Attempt at "Executive summary"
All complicated stuff, so let me try to explain from my 'idiot' viewpoint:

SPF - a TXT record in the domain name server says who is allowed to send emails from this domain, it is used to verify the sender and return addresses.

Yahoo DomainKeys - the email is signed with a 'signature', the domain name server is checked for the public key and this is used to check if the signature is real.

Microsoft Caller ID - Twas brillig, and the slithy toves, did gyre and gimble in the wabe, all mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.
