now *that* was funny.

so is it your contention that those 'past' conditions did represent a time when there were no choices (which is what they are claiming in their suit)? regardless of whether the 'federal disposition did make provision for these sorts of suits', do you support their contention?

because it does not match up with my own experiences. during the time in question, during which i happened to live in california, i had other choices available to me and i exercised them. so i cannot 'buy' their contention. for all of microsofts many faults (the reasons why i sought out and exercised other choices), i have never felt forced to purchase their wares, so the whole 'abusive monopoly' argument just doesnt hold a lot of water for me.

my point was not to suggest the two issues were in 'conflict', just to point out the humor in the juxtaposition of the two.
