'Documented' war record
When you refer to Kerry's 'documented' war record, you must mean the forms that *he* filled out to get his medals. I wasn't there... and I really doubt that you were... but the tactics used by the Kerry team to 'dispute' the facts are very suspicious.

Reporter: "The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth accuse you of exaggerating your Vietnam war record, and they also take issue with your statements made when you came home from the war."

Kerry Spokesman: "The Switft Boat Veterans for Truth are a front group for the Republicans."

Reporter: "But what does Senator Kerry say about these charges?"

Kerry Spokesman: "They're largest donor is a registered Republican."

Reporter: "Okay, you won't answer their charges... Is it true that while you were a commissioned officer in the US Navy Reserve that you met with Viet Cong officials in France to champion their ideas for a way to end the war?"

Kerry Spokesman: "John McCain said that Bush should condemn the Swift Boat Vet ads."

Reporter: "Weren't the words of Senator Kerry's congressional testimony used in the course of Viet Cong torture of American prisoners of war?"

Kerry Spokesman: "The Bush Campaign is illegally coordinating with this 527 group."

Reporter: "The Democratic Party has acquired dossiers on the Swift Boat veterans and it appears that the next step in this debate will be ad hominem attacks that have nothing to do with the issues that the veterans have raised."

Kerry Spokesman: "The Senator served honorably in Vietnam. He is a war hero."

Reporter: *Sigh*

(The above is a satirical creation on my part and should not be construed to portray any reporter as being silly enough to think he or she would get straight answers to these questions.)
