That's a joke, right?
A lot of mainframes (most?) don't get IPL'd (booted) for a year or more. That is, no downtime at all, not for patches, maintenence - none. When you say "minus the reboots and patch maintenance", I have to laugh. That's like saying, "Well, except for my 4-putt on the 1st hole, my lost ball on the 2nd, my drive into the water on the 3rd, etc...., I would have shot par".

One of the mainframe's goals is RAS - Reliability, Accessability, and Serviceability - and nothing comes close.
