Yes but FTP Is not illegal!!!

My corporation has an FTP site> In fact they have several. We also have Domino servers and we actually use both to send files and copyrighted works to different locations.

In fact, when we upgraded Lotus(R) Notes(R) frm 5.x to 6.0.x, I downloaded the binaries from one of our FTP sites. When we upgraded from Lotus(R) Notes(R) 6.0.x to 6.5, I downloaded the binaries from one of our Domino server.

When I am upgrading desktops and laptops (or setting up new ones) I download all the binaries from one of our file servers.

Nothing of this is illegal. All the software are properly lisenced and made available and used under the terms of the copyright lisence and EULA!

So just because I put up a network that allows someone to share files on there Hard drive (P2P network) or place software on my ftp site (client-server network) does not make my actions illegal. Large corporations do this all the time. Case in point, Driverguide.com, Windrivers.com, hp.com, Microsoft.com

What is illegal is me taking the binaries or copyrighted material and using it in a way not allowed.
