Extending copyrights into perpetuity is a bad idea. If an author cannot make enough money off the first 28 years, that is his problem (or his heirs). After the 28, the material should be public domain.

Though I am slightly more sympathetic to Great Ormond Street Hospital with the Peter Pan copyright, I still do not think it should remain out of the public domain forever.
