I knew right after I sent that I should've given Mac/Apple credit for adding a good GUI to a *nix OS. I do believe they've added a level of complexity that the previous Mac OSs spared the user from. For example, it was nice just to be able to drag the system folder to another drive and boot off of that or keep it for backup. Not quite so easy with OS X. But that's minor. Now if only they could grow their market share I might switch back to Mac. But the job market for Mac admins is kind of tiny...
