MS has admitted it (mistakenly or not) placed "user
friendliness/ease-of-use" before security but you can have
both...

>>> Unfortunately, an easy to use OS is inherently
insecure. >>>

I disagree. As a long time Mac user, I say you can have both
ease-of-use and a secure OS.

Previous to OS X, Mac OSes 6, 7, 8, 9 had set the standard
for Windows usability (Windows 95 = Mac OS '84) yet were
very secure (with a few rare viruses... most of which were
benign nuisances rather than "deadly" threats. Ironically,
MSWord cross-platform macro-related viruses were
probably the most dangerous, then and now.)

OS X is even more "bullet proof" and I contend Mac OS
ease-of-use and security has as much to do with quality
software design than just philosophy and the red-herring
excuse of "Windows popularity = bigger/more popular
target".

Bottom line... Mac OSes have been very easy to use,
functional and secure without all the open back doors, poor
programming and monopoly-driven design decisions so
prevalent in what's become spaghetti-coded, patch-upon-
patch MS Windows.

*** I'm not claiming the Mac is perfect, but compared to
Windows... happy
