It makes me wonder if there's even a real person doing the transcription. The mistakes listed were pretty much semantically non-sensical but reasonably matched the phonetics of the proper words...kind of like what voice recognition software would produce. Anyone smart enough to read and write would know that a "baloney amputation" makes no sense. And if you think about it, one person could probably assist several computers in doing transcription...
Either that or the company doing the work has absolutely no concern with quality...well...actually no matter how they are doing it they seem to have to regard for quality, even if people's lives are at risk. Never buy a man-rated system from India...
So to me this sounds like pretty gross negligence. So here's a legal question - Besides terminating the outsourcing agreement, what actions can the hospital take in order to recover, say, the costs of having to re-transcribe every single thing they sent to India? - Posted by: Erik1234 Posted on: 08/26/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
