P2P is hear to stay and nothing is going to change that. The corporation need to realize it and change thier way of doing business. Thier control of the market is over. If you think no one is buying CDs anymore then stop producing them. Put out DVDs with audio content that offers value and is too large to bother downloading. Let P2P work for you as a promotion tool. Radio station won't like but you won't be blowing millions of dollars on independent record promoters anymore. Look at the savings.

Control of the market is exactly the point... they will never let P2P be used as a promotional tool (even though it woudl be cheap and sucessful), because P2P doesn't let them control the SUPPLY... P2P allows Indie and lesser known artist to be heard and desired... the industry does NOT want independent artists, because they can't rape indie artists of their hard work and not pay them a fiar price for it...
