You really should understand a technology before you flame it.

You don't even have to open an account with a bank to get the SPF record for any domain. All you have to do is query DNS for all TXT records for a given domain. DNS will then tell you all about SPF for any domain. And the information will be worthless for a spammer.

SPF defines exactly what servers are allowed to send mail for a given domain. Spammers almost never use legitimate servers to send their mail, mainly because they can't. Any competent administrator won't make their email server an open relay, and incompetent ones get their servers blacklisted very quickly.

What SPF will do is to shut off the spam from virus-infected zombies claiming to be sending mail from somewhere else and also from open relays (operated by admins that don't care about spam) doing the same thing. This won't stop spam completely but it'll sure make a big dent.
