Ok, now that was stupid
I was totally not agreeing with that analogy till yours came along. His is more correct than yours.

Lets see, If i buy stocks with out a stockbroker how is my old stockbroker working for free?

One flip side

How is me downloading for free, assuming I never buy here, even similar to buying from a website?

P2P is more like radio for promotion purposes except it's uncontrolled. Hence the reason RIAA hates it. No control. CDs and MP3 are not the same product that's why people still buy MP3s.

Here's what I think the Recording Industry should do. They should let everyone enjoy free music on P2P. They should stop putting out CDs entirely. They should then put out High Def content on the new DVDs.

Are you going to download 25 GBs of content and decrypt or just pay $18 for the DVD. Remember the MP3s are fee for the taking but like that song in MP3 format but want more well that DVD has MORE. There will be full surround sound, concerts, songs and such. Watch how much money they make.

This is just smart but will the recording industry do it? Nope! As it's a compromise. MP3s become worthless and DVD audio becomes the money maker but there's that little control thing again.
