It had better be law....
What branch of engineering? Civil? I have a "useless" robotics engineering degree from the University of California. Even got a P.E. license in control systems. Fortunately I was able to get into computers in the early 90's. I got my M.S. in that. I still teach part time but I in no way encourage technology as a viable career. Hobby yes, but career no.

The bottom line is this, if you excel quantitatively you job will probably be oursourced at some point. That goes for accountants, physicists, you name it. It is utterly STUPID for a young person to take a science curriculum in college these days. The U.S. simply does not believe that it needs any technology knowledge. We will just buy it cheap from abroad...for now. Study law! Sue your way to the Senate and then perhaps the Vice Presidency happy.
