Hudson is Lying!
The article states that: ?there are sound reasons for growing optimism among tech professionals, said Kevin Knaul, executive vice president for the information technology and technology practice at staffing firm Hudson.?

Well just like a used car salesman or a pimp, a headhunter such as Hudson can?t open their mouth without telling a lie. IEEE-USA?s most recent analysis (http://www.ieeeusa.org/releases/2004/072604pr.html) of the BLS (Bureau of Labor) statistics revealed that: ?BLS reported a decline of 131,000 employed computer software engineers in the second quarter vs. the first quarter (725,000 vs. 856,000).?

That is a 15.3% DECLINE in the number of employed American software engineers in one quarter and Hudson has the gall to say that there are reasons for optimism!!!

For two years I made the mistake of listening to headhunter lies about how things are getting better. In spite of having 9 years of experience and three certifications from SUN (SCJP, SCWCD, SCJD), I have been unable to find a new software postion.

IT is a dying profession in America and as of this Monday I?m going back to school to get a degree in a branch of engineering that cannot be offshored.

If you are unemployed trust the numbers from the IEEE and don?t believe the lies that headhunters tell. If you are smart you will switch careers now and get out of IT.
