The judge was clearly quoted in this case. First the case was not against a downloader. It was a case of several internet users making songs available for download where Bell Canada, Sympatico, and Telus fought the CRIA over revealing the name of those making songs available for downloads. The judge ruled that making songs available for downloads was not infringing on copyrights and there was no need to violate the privacy of those making songs available.
