Desperate times calls for....
Real is just trying to disrupt something that works well together, iPod+iTunes for their benefits not the consumers. They will be selling the license to others to make money from it.

Since when did they start caring what us consumers think? This is bad for consumers because a simple upgrade of iTunes will disable Harmony. This is their plan 'B' solution, and it's nothing more than a desperate plan, don't bite.
