could be your nemesis tomorrow. Remember who you are talking about here, IBM is no saint. IBM is in bed with Linux because it serves their purposes and they will stop being a champion of the open source community the moment that it no longer profitable to do so.

If there were some reason that it served MS's purposes they would also be a friend to the open source community community. There is not much difference between MS and IBM.
