- This is self-serving NONSENSE.......
-
Graying? I'm hardly graying at 32, and I'm not willing to retire to a life of poverty, thanks!
There is NO SHORTAGE of IT labor in the Unites States.
In fact, I think it would be GREAT if every unemployed tech worker here would offer their resume.
I have been out of work for over 2 years despite this supposed "labor shortage"
In fact, here's my challenge..... I would like a steady job, a relatively PERMANENT job, paying a decent wage for my skills.
I don't ask for an outrageous salary, just a decent one with reasonable benefits that justifies my efforts in getting educated, and that does NOT require me to pick up and move every year.
Here's my resume.
I'm sure there's many others out there. I personally know some, varying in experience from about what I have, to some having almost 20 years experience, who STILL can't find work.
So, where are the jobs? What labor shortage? If there was a labor shortage, I'd be able to EASILY find work, and not only that, probably be able to DEMAND more than I'm worth, right? Law of supply and demand?
Or does that law magically not apply when an Indian outsourcing firm is trying to serve their own self-interests?
Actually, the one thing I hope that comes of these repeated "studies" that outsourcing is good for us, the one thing I REALLY hope happens, is that enough US workers get angry enough at how they're being forced into unemployment, and yet told it's good for them, that they finally get fed up and DEMAND that our government do something about it.
If you're a US company who is outsourcing, shame on you! We're still here, and still available. If you want to get the benefits of being a US company, you should be willing to employ US workers.
I'm not normally the chest-beating patriotic type, but this is just something that seems to me more like a legal scam than anything else. - Posted by: jvahabzadeh Posted on: 10/16/03 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
