Missing the real reason
The reason MS allows only three apps is that is the number of apps an MS system is capable of running simultaneously with less than a 10% chance of crashing. MS has done extensive research in this area. Each app after that doubles the chance of a crash. In other words, 4 apps = 20%, 5 apps = 40%, 6 apps = 80%, and with 7 apps you are virtually assured of crashing.

You see, MS wants 'new' users to think their system is stable, despite the fact it is well known to crash quite frequently, hence the reason for the limit. It's to sucker 'new' users into spending their hard earned money buying the full version before they realize what junk it really is.

MS has only one strong point. They know which 'experts' they can buy and they have the money to buy them. It's all marketing.

It's all in my forthcoming book, "1000 Well Known, but Never Printed Together in One Place, Facts About MS".

Get it at you favorite bookseller when it is available, which will be about the same time MS is capable of writing an OS that is actually stable.

And in an unrelated story, Hey, bitty, did you see the story where the mayor of Munich 'plugged' the Linux desktop conversion back in? Seems you will maintain your perfect record of being wrong 100% of the time. Congrats.
