"Ude has also urged the EU to junk the patents directive."
EU should junk the BSA's patents directive. It was original worded by the BSA lawyer, it has tricky wording in it, specifically the way they softened the "technology" part required by TRIPs.
The BSA is a lobby outfit representing a small number of companies, mostly non-European at that.
So it has a special interest in playing these games.
The process has bypassed the small measure of EU Democracy there is and there has been too much furtive lobbying behind closed doors.
The Commission is supposed to represent the whole of Europe, not the narrow interests of a few corporate lobby groups.
