Obviously, the dialogue here is by those competent to deal with tech glitches that MS deals out. As an intermediate computer user (who reads ZD Digest) and does a little research before using what Auto Update offers, I am more than a little concerned about the LACK of information that MS provides.

That makes installing an "uninformed" choice. Which is, of course, deception. I went to the MS site to see if there was info on cautions that software may conflict with this update: NADA. Only good happy news with the implication (which most users will swallow whole hog) that if you don't update this you will be VULNERABLE.

Clearly, MS does not give a "balanced" appraisal of their product and can cause users headache/heartache due to incompatabilities.

This is basically, dishonest, no matter whether you can work around glitches or not. Why be dishonest? Cause you need to be or other's wouldn't go with your flow. In my opinion, CONTROL is the goal. MS is making me more nervous as time goes by.

Tell me more about FREEdom, Linux and how I can switch, please.
