Darn it Tic, you stole my thunder! lol
You took the words right out of my head...the Internet is based all around that which is now called Peer-to-Peer or (P2P). It doesn't matter that in the early days it didn't have the same buzz word to make it sound "cooler" to the masses. It was still the same concept.

There is nothing at wrong at ALL with p2p, its how its used that you could have offense with -- which is is it used for trading pirated/illegal software/music/videos, etc.? Don't get mad at the application though.

What if I and trading my own music (that I wrote/recorded myself), what about games that I programmed, stories that I wrote, etc. -- is p2p still bad? I don't think so. Its a file sharing tool, nothing more, nothing less.

Is a screwdriver bad? No if I use it to fix something, yes if I'm using it to stab people in the throat with.

wink
