Minor Correction.
If Linux belongs to SCO...

SCO never said Linux belongs to them. There is much in Linux that belongs to BSD, AT&T Unix (Sys-X), and a whole lot of contributors from around the world. Stuff that is legally allowed to be in there. SCO can't claim ownership of such work as it is owned and created by others.

What they actually said has had so many inconsistencies and versions depending on parties involved, that it is difficult to figure out what their current stance is on each front. They basically seem to say that IBM illegally put SysV code into Linux, but have yet to provide even a hint of such action (after a year!). Thus, all Linux users are using SysV code w/o permission and must pay up for past and future usage. Keep in mind we don't know if they are still saying that or some skewed version of it.

Their excuse seems to be that they are in discovery to find such infringement and that they are being delayed by IBM as it hasn't turned over all the code and developers that SCO would like (the court didn't grant them access as it felt it wasn't needed).

But all of IBM's contributions are public and freely available for viewing, and SCO already has SysV code. So they have had all the relevant work to find such infringement from the beginning, and should have checked the code before filing a lawsuit like they told all of us that they did.

Other than the screaming and chest beating, there seems to be nothing that supports SCO even having a case against IBM.
