Lock the worm holes?
Maybe now MS can develop a service pack for the end users themeselves, to make them smarter, so they don't do stupid things like hook up a windows box DIRECTLY TO THE INTERNET without some sort of firewall, or click on executable attachments that arrive via email from people they don't know.

If they could do that, they'd put Symantec, McAfee, F-Secure, Panda, etc., out of business.

Maybe they could try the whole "celebrity" angle where they pay famous people like rock stars, movie stars, porn stars, religious activists, etc, to get on TV and say stuff like clicking on executable attachments in email isn't cool, or something like that. That would probably do more to stop viruses than making SP2, and if you get some low budget people, like Gary Coleman, Vanilla Ice, Erik Estrada, heck get the whole cast of the Surreal Life to promote it, and it would end up costing far less than the development of SP2 did.
