Games and some apps...
realistically the apps that are out there for Linux are more than adequate for the average user at home. Moneydance, Open Office the Gimp. All are just fine for the average home user. Consider this, most people never use at least 90% of what thier current apps offer in the first place, so how would using the Open Source equivalants be any different?

Now for advanced users, you may have a valid point. One other area that would need more products would be the "cool factor" games. Although I am not a gamer myself, I am not a fool. I know that a good portion of the PC market is PC games.
