- Novell shifted from their X.500 to TCP/IP a few years back
-
Unix based systems have had networking since the dawn of the Internet (1983), gratis the DARPA founded Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN) work to implement TCP/IP in Berkeley (BSD) Unix (same stack as in Windows 2000, XP and 2003). Novell started in 1979 to do disk systems (originally Novell Data Systems), did LAN systems in 1983 originally as file-server systems and in 1998 moved to TCP/IP when Eric Schmidt joined from Sun.
While I do not challange that they have been in the networking game for a while, that is not what they are doing here! - Posted by: B.O.F.H. Posted on: 08/07/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
