Actually an OS should be designed with the intent on giving your hardware functionality. All the other peripheral applications are what let you do the fancy things. Windows should not be browsing and playing media. That should be up to browsers and media players. I'm too bored with running a mere simple search on my local machine and having to tell my firewall that I don't want Windows explorer accessing the Net. That is a majorly disgusting intrusion, no?..
