I would, but not the same way I did.
For those of us who have been in I/T many years, our environment is changing very rapidly. First, some kids "program" their calulators to cheat on tests and talk to their friends on the internet. New programmers don't "bit fiddle" like I did when I did when I started. The programming job is now "automated". The willingness to work hard at something so tedious made us worth some money because not everyone would, let alone could, do the job. The old supply and demand rule applies. Supply increases (due to automation), so demand (if it remains the same) decreases in relation to supply causing wages to decrease.

I have found that an open mind, a positive attitude and a willingness to try new things have created new opportunities for this old "bit fiddler". The 20 year old computer science degree taught me concepts I still use. Now, I have found some applications that better algorithms could make more efficient and I am going back to school for a Masters degree in Computer Science.

Many schools of higher education are selling degrees that are fancy forms of practical education that will go away in 5-10 years. Don't go for it. If you study concepts, review research and make the applications for yourself, you will be investing your money in new growth instead of buying something that will disappear.
