Trying to avoid the Palm stumble?
You know, I remember the Palm IPO (yes I made a buck or two) and I can see why Google doesn't want to go the same route.

Palm was around $35 opening day and that is what they got for their stock. Of course the money men bought it up, drove it to $168 a share before days end, and then dumped it all the next day.

Palm ended up with little of the money, their stock took a tank, and the money men, well they where the only "winners".

Yeah, I can see not wanting to go that route...
