You're right - Apple DOESN"T have to license ...
but it sure hurst their legal arguements against circumventors' (AKA Real) actions hurting their "intelectual property" rights and revenue.

This is like the whining businesses that don't want to pay U.S. taxes but want U.S. government protection.

If I don't like Safeways patented/copyrighted tomatoe prices and I plant my own why should Safeway sue me (because they look the same)?
