Need a standard for ALL the stores
The problem with Apple's protection schema is that in order to load it with music not purchased directly from iTunes, one has to go through extra steps and expense (blank CD-cheap, but still...) to make that music compatible. After a few go-rounds of this to help out a friend, I decided not to bother with the iPod at all.

If the music stores would offer more than one format, there might not be such a big issue about the hardware. Since MP3 is the real standard for now, maybe it's time for direct support.
