Ridiculous is right...
I thought that analogy was pretty spurious. ...he equivalent of a losing team stopping a game of Australian football in the fourth quarter and asking for the rules of the code to be changed to let them back into the contest. So I guess that bad laws should just be left in place? By his way of thinking, we'd be locked in play for the rest of time. After all, it's not like the "game" of business ever ends. Yeah, crappy analogy.

Also, ...I don't think a few dogmatic open source guys are going to change the constitution (sic)[/b. Wow!!! This guy's a real scholar... or not. The Constitution does address the question generally:

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 8: To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

The means by which this is to be accomplished is not specified, besides by saying that Congress "shall have power to..." That's it. The screwed-up system now in place obviously does not accomplish the task that the Constitution demands that Congress perform. I love it... Darl invokes the Constitution as though his fallacious interpretation is the only possible one. His Highness will be disappointed to know that even the current state of the system does not support his views, let alone a working form of carrying out the Constitutional mandate.
