And understanding!
"That's exactly what I mean. What is there to be discovered?"

What you claim SCO has to release. During discovery, they turn over to IBM what it is that they have as evidence for their claims. IBM must turn over any evidence that they would plan to use as part of their own defense to the SCO charges.

As maddening as it may be to spectators like yourself, the evidence isn't for you to decide, but for a judge/jury to view and decide. It only has to come out in court and that will be some time yet.

"So if they have proof why do they need time to discover anything."

Judges don't do Perry Mason stuff in real life. After discovery, most cases are pretty cut and dried and the lawyers can predict where a settlement will end up. It gets pretty obvious to a judge, too, and if one side is adamant and refuses to do business, they will often be on the short end of rulings and end up with even less than they would have gotten in a settlement.

"in the mean time please let me completely destroy your reputation."

That is a side effect of people being too impatient to wait for the evidence and the final result?
