Hi Nemesis,

Unfortunately, I must agree with you. Our country has
become a nation of litigation, obsessed with blaming
someone (anyone) other than ourselves. Caldera/SCO
ran itself into the ground through mismanagement and
sheer incompetence - and now they want cash from a
successful enterprise : IBM.

Have they proven their case? No. Have they even
really tried? No, not really. They keep tossing around
allegations and threats, but no evidence. What little they
did show was already in the public domain, and serious
questions remain as to which direction the copying went,
"into" or "out of" SCO.

If they are right, they should demonstrate this and then
press their claim. No-one agrees with infringment, and
the OSS community would make things right.

However, their current behavior indicates that this is no
more than a stock price "pump and dump" scheme
designed to enrich the corporate executives before the
Caldera/SCO ship sinks at last beneath the waves. I
hope the SEC/NASD is watching...
