I believe this was not his point...
I think what he is referring to is sharing ideas, technology and skills. Not taxing Peter to pay Paul. He is referring to the way we are perceived by other countries and their citizens. The reason terrorists are willing to kill themselves is America does not offer them anything. They resent our culture and the way we protect our own interests. We are perceived to have huge egos and do not care about others. Terrorists offer some young kid's family money and they will be considered martyrs and go to heaven the poor kid kills himself and us. Compared to their poor environments; this is worth the sacrifice.

He is saying we should build and share what we built with other countries and visa-versa for the betterment of all. But there is a mountain of trust that has to be built and very few countries trust America. This was his point; nothing more. And as a CEO to a company that would benefit from this; it makes sense that he would make these comments. Remember, they do business all over the world. This is not some actor that has nothing to gain but press releases and pats on their backs. Take it easy on the guy; his comments makes sense.
