and the stats say...
as a proportion of it's wealth the USA gives least when compared to all 22 of the worlds' most developed countries

and that 80% of that aid itself actually goes to American companies in those foreign countries

Ziauddin Sardar and Merryl Wyn Davies, 2002
as quoted at http://www.vexen.co.uk/USA/index.html
_________
Personally though, I think it is just basic sociology. We define a group to be different than "ours" and punish people who do not conform to "our" expectations -- see Salem Witch Hunt. While there might be unpleasant things about the US (and odd things --caused by moldy bread?-- about the "witches"), the underly mechanism is to develop support for ones own agenda.

Let's be more sophisticated here and really assess whether the Yankees are bad for baseball. For example, the Lakers in the playoffs meant higher ratings and more $$ for the NBA.

Anyway, one Boston fan is just trying to drum up support for his team by "fostering hatred" of the Yanks. We can see the same with the Lakers or in politics. I will still use Fedora though...

A stupid but age old tactic that enlightened poeple do not fall for. I disgree with the US environmental agenda and dislike G.W. Bush but fostering hatred is NOT productive, I believe even against that ____(fill in as you wish___ Microsoft.

Of course, some people seem to feel if they are filled with emotion they are more alive, and hatred is an easy emotion to arouse. Victims of thier own stupidity I say.
