the root of this is still fair use...
Real created their own software the duplicates the functionality of fair play. That in no way violate the letter or the spirit of the DMCA. They neither broke apple's encryption nor did an action for piracy.
By our Fair Use laws, we have a right o play our media on any player we want to. Real, is providing a tool that let's it happen.
