You just don't get it.
Those that are in favor of Mac, such as people with comments like;

"The simple fact is that Apple has a (dominant) position in the digital music market, because they offer a product, the iPod, and a service, the iTunes Music Store, that are far superior and a must-have for consumers," Craig Nori wrote. "Beating your competition by building a better product and offering superior service should be applauded. And it's the complete opposite of Microsoft's way of doing business."

Ron Stark wrote: "Apple deserves to reap the benefits of its labors without having someone else nose in on their work."

Just don't get the issue or what's at stake for them.

The only thing RealNetworks did is give you another option in regard to what music you can buy. How on earth can another option be a bad thing. With out that option you're pidgin holed into a Preparatory format, FairPlay DRM (digital rights management), which ensures that you only get music that;

A. They have
B. They control.
C. Isn't superior to other compression formats. (Do the research)

The device and the User Interface for the IPod is good and to some extent so is the ITunes site but that's not enough to be limited to whare you buy your music and what device it plays on.

By supporting Mac's view your are essentially telling them that it's ok for them to dictate how every aspect of your music listening experience will be. That's scarry.

What happens when you want to transfer your music from ITunes/IPod to a yet created device or you want copies on your HTPC, car and your IPod? Your screwed because of the limitations of the format. DRM isn't fair to the consumer and only benefits the companies that sponsor it. They have no right to tell me how or where I can use the music I purchased. And for Mac to say I can't use music I got from another site on a device I own is wrong.
