Generally I find IT administrators are totally against the concept of software as a service, and I guess with good reason (their jobs are no longer required ultimately).

Clearly Salesforce.com has a good thing going, as has Netsuite, and a hundred other similar services.

I would choose a web application in preference to a "richer" application any day of the week.
You could use it from your iPhone, your webpad, your Xbox360 or PS3 and so on. No install necessary, no need to drag all your client data around on a stealable laptop if you want to work at home.

Sure there are places where you can't use the internet. These are places where you should enjoy other pleasures like talking to your fellow human, reading a book, watchings bugs or birds or whatever wildlife is around.
