But Novell possibly holds the IP
it is not the distro that is important, it is the IP that Novell may or may not hold that is important. If Sun were to purchase Novell, remove the possible protection that Novell offers Linux users and backs SCO it could be really really bad for the Linux community. Remember Sun is now buddy buddy with MS. I use SuSE now so it would not effect me but IBM could get screwed along with Redhat.
