Poor example.

Munich is not a good example.

The city chose SuSE Linux though it was far more expensive.
The reason may have been because SuSE was local. SuSE is now owned by Novell, an American company.
The change to Linux has been slow, in part because none of their regular subcontractors knew how to use Linux and a number of applications had to be changed.

In short, Munich sounds cautionary rather than encouraging.

That's not to say there aren't good examples of changes to Linux. Look at the number of moves from Unix to Linux servers that have gone smoothly. Might as well choose stories that show Linux used for its intended prupose.
