Bad for consumers
I happen to love SuSE and it's clear that Novell is on the right track. Sun can't seem to figure out what their position is. Sometimes they seem to be great partners in OSS and sometimes they actually seem to be a threat to OSS.

Novell has laid the ground-work to regain their previous position in the tech world. It would be a great loss to consumers to see Sun buy them and ruin all of that.

Sun has conributed alot to the open source community but all things considered I don't really trust them.
