As Martha Stewert said, it's a good thing to be able to disagree on points without bursting a vein in the forehead.
That's a good point about the experiences of the soldiers who are more grisled compared to the younger ones.
I guess I didn't look at the war comparisons from a personal view, but merely that the vietnam war was not conducted (from the top down) the way a war should be conducted, and that is to defeat the enemy and win the war. We had the best soldiers in the world, who served well and died for what sometimes seemed like no good reason, and the worst leaders (Washington DC). The war in Iraq however, seems to me to have a clear goal, a specific plan, the best soldiers in the world and very competant leaders who are determined to defeat the enemy.
BTW, don't forget that no matter how invinceable we all may have felt at 19, during any war I think that there are very few who aren't scared $hitless at some point. - Posted by: Spoon Jabber Posted on: 08/03/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
