Thank you
I don't recall using the word mindless, but yes I may have jumped on you too hard at first, and for that I'm sorry. I would just rather discuss issues than to point out perceived flaws that we all share.

I thought that the pres "elucidates" quite nicely, and I especially like the way he doesn't try to talk above anyones head.

It's fantastic that you served your country and I salute you, and thank you. I think you would have to go to Iraq, or talk to someone who's been there to realize that it is nothing like vietnam. My family has a long record of service and we have lost many lives in conflicts from the civil war to the first gulf war. I have 2 relatives fighting in Iraq now that also served in vietnam, and they relate to me that there is no comparison. The main difference is that the politicians aren't running the war in Iraq like they did in vietnam.

...we have gone to war without a clear plan for what we mean to do,...

I have heard this nonsense several times ands it is too bad that you didn't see the numerous speeches by the pres and others clearly and precisely telling the american people exactly why we are going to war. You may disagree with the reasons, but to say we didn't have a clear plan is, at best, ludicrous.

And remember, there is no draft now, and we have plenty of volunteers to answer the call. I would hope that you would let your own son decide for himself about serving and I take issue with the fact that you claim Bush has "forced" them to go to war, after all they volunteered.

And I really don't understand why people can't see the obvious reasons to take the fight to our enemy instead of waiting for them to come here again. Clintons appeasement did nothing for the security of our country and we need a strong, tough leader like....oh...say....George Bush!

Bush/Cheney 2004!!!
