Edumacate yourself before you spew nonsense...

Boy, seems a lot of you don't know what you are talking about... first of all, Linux is a great operating system, it's a "low level" system (closer to native machine code & Unix based), and is actually far more capable than Windows... second, a "Live CD" simply contains the entire operating system ON THE CD ITSELF and never looks to disc in order to support its own functionality... third, the idea of any sort of partitioning mentioned above is absolutly ludicrous, as that would surely overwrite data (though likely data which has been "deleted" (had it's flag turned off in the directory)) which is a VERY likely place to find the very images they are looking for... I'd urge those of you who have not yet run Linux to do so - far more stable - much faster - OPEN SOURCE!!!
I am the IT Director for a financial institution, and we were audited by one of the 3 largest institutions before being granted funding... the guy that came was a Forensic Investigator so talented that he does work for the NSA, FBI, etc.. the things he told me blew me away... just a couple: with molecular imaging, he can still see what was on your HD after 7 FULL FORMATS... and view the contents of a normal (non-shielded) HD from OUTSIDE your house... finding file extensions likely to be images and detecting skin tone in those images is kindergarden stuff - though perfectly appropriate for theoretical discussion to be brought to fruition in a college course. People bash people and people(s) as a result of their own lack of self-esteem... sorry about your lunch money (but you can still get Linux with out it!!!).
