Turnkey solutions
The race is on to provide all necessary enterprise capabilities. The winner will be a single company able to pull disparate programs together and provide a unique (= locked-in) connection.

I'm betting that Microsoft wins eventually. But with open source's ability to grab others' programming and use it for free, there may well be a half-a$$ solution preceding it.

The stakes are high. As companies de-emphasize IT, they're looking for a relatively cheap solution that lets them forget that whilom cost center ever existed.
The monoculture will arrive in the data center.
