The EU's action vis a vis MicroSoft is more than appropriate and serves as an example of what should have happened in the U.S. Court decisions in the U.S. were clearly based on expediency, politics, and a mistaken notion of what's good for the economy. This is a shameful blot on American jurisprudence. It's more than years overdue that MicroSoft is held to the same rules as the rest of the world.

This was not simply a past "transgression," but rather a continuing business philosophy held by MicroSoft. To assume that MS is operating with anything based on fair play would naive to say the least.
